Fun in the sun is firmly on the agenda again this year with the Baylys Beach Bonanza on track to deliver an exciting day out on February 6.
“However, we will be without the horse events this year,” said organiser, Trish Harding.
“This is partly because of the drought and economic climate as well, and we are holding our event on the same day as the Paparoa Show, which has attracted horse events.”
But there is still a full list of activities drawn up for the day including sand-sculpture and a variety of games and races for children.
“The volleyball competition will be getting under way at about 11am and registrations for the surf competition will be taken up until 1pm. The area for surfing will be decided on the day depending on the break,” said Trish.
“A major event of the day will be the surfing and this is a memorial event for the late Craig Ossie who was a local surfing enthusiast.
“As always there will be a sausage sizzle and other food and drinks so all it needs is the family, some beach gear like umbrella and chairs. The Beach Bonanza can be reached from a few hundred metres south from Chases Gorge.”
