Kiwi comedy in the spirit of the great Billy T James and the musical parodies of Weird Al, Dargaville Kindergarten’s comedy gala has big support from Gish

Big laughs for a cause

Award-winning Kiwi comedian Gish is lending his support to a fundraiser for Dargaville Kindergarten, confirming a performance at their comedy night gala event on July 12 at the Dargaville Town Hall.

Gish, real name Justin Hansen, is a popular musical comedian who combines stand-up with witty and memorable parody songs.

His reworkings of classics like Loyal and Hotel California have seen him compared to Aussie comic legend Kevin Bloody Wilson and American parody composer Weird Al Yankovic. Previous shows by Gish in Maungaturoto have drawn enthusiastic crowds; now he’s bringing his anarchic brand of humour to Dargaville. The proceeds from this forthcoming Dargaville show will further ambitious plans by the Dargaville Kindergarten to expand their outdoor play area to be more accessible to children of all levels of physical ability. Those who wish to book a seat or a table for six with drinks and nibbles should contact the Dargaville Kindergarten or RSVP to 022 014 2195.
