Caring in Kaiwaka

by Liz Clark

Kates Place, a non-profit organisation, based in Kaiwaka remains available to residents in need despite the lockdown.

“We are still open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm and will be available by phone, email or messenger,” says community coordinator Kirstie Brown.

“If people need documents sent to WINZ, etc — we will meet people there with certain protocols in place.

“We are shopping and supporting a group of older or unwell people in our community doing their shopping and collecting scripts or whatever they may need.

“Counselling is still available over the phone if people need some professional support and I am available for any practical needs,” said Kirstie.

“If you are in need of financial or emotional support please call us.”

Kates Place can be contacted by calling 09 431 2661 or 029 773 9085. Email kirstie.katesplace@gmail.com or visit Kates Place Facebook page.
