Local lawyers win big

Northland law firm WRMK Lawyers scooped a haul of awards at last week’s 2019 NZ Law Awards, held at the Cordis hotel and conference centre in Auckland.
The firm, who maintains an office serving the people of Dargaville, won the Regional/Suburban Law Firm of the Year and the Employer of Choice Award for firms with less than 50 lawyers. They were also finalists for the Mid-size Firm of the Year Award.
Managing director and rural team leader Rebecca Merry said: “These awards are a reflection of the hard work our team puts in every day, and we are thrilled to have our efforts recognised. Our firm is built on having teams of specialists working together in innovative ways to deliver excellent service and top quality, practical legal advice to our clients. The judges also commented on our open and flexible working culture.”
WRMK Lawyers’ Whangarei office was established in the 1930s, with further offices opened in Dargaville in 2008, Kerikeri in 2016 and Warkworth in March 2019. The firm is also known by its full name, Webb Ross McNab Kilpatrick. The NZ Law Awards are the leading independent awards for the New Zealand legal profession, and judge work completed and services provided between April 1 2018 and March 31 2019.
A win in this nationwide competition is viewed as a top accolade for those who practice law.
