Netballers doing well

The Northern Wairoa Netball Centre have a number of developmental initiatives happening and players doing well this season.For junior players, a performance centre is held weekly in Ruawai. Instructor Colleen Glass helps them develop basic skills with specialised coaching for shooting, attack, and defence.

There is a club leadership programme which includes teaching in coaching, umpiring, community engagement, player development and administration.

A Northern Wairoa Club team will compete in the Kerikeri representative tournament, with the first game this Sunday and will then go onto play in Whangarei, the Hibiscus Coast and Rodney.

A number of the club’s premier grade players have taken the opportunity to further broaden their experience and exposure by playing for the Whangarei-based Fideliter Netball Club.

In last Friday’s game Fideliter two were promoted to the premier grade after a win against Wahine Toa 41-23.
