With the 2016 NCEA results in, Otamatea High School “has punched well above its weight with a set of outstanding results,” said principal Rachel Clothier-Simmonds.
In level one, students had a 91% pass rate, 91.7% in level two and 89.3% in level three. The school also achieved 97.5% pass rates in level one literacy and numeracy and 66.7% of year 13s gained university entrance, making the school’s results above the national average. “We also received a special mention as the most improved of all decile four schools in the country over the past year.
“The results are fantastic and our students, staff and community are very proud. The success is due to positive initiatives and good support for learning. We have awesome teachers who have positive relationships with the students and families,” said Rachel.
