Mucking in with Rotary

Dargaville Primary students and a group of dedicated Rotarians got their hands dirty at the Mt Wesley Cemetery last Wednesday as part of a challenge set by the Rotary International president to plant 1.2 million trees — a tree for each Rotarian in the world — between July 1 and Earth Day on April 22 2018. Rotarian, Brian Burnett, said the group aimed to plant 500 manuka and kanuka seedlings in an effort to combat climate change and restore the land.
