A fundraising concert with an extensive lineup of local talent will help 11-year-old Dargaville gymnast Grace Christey represent New Zealand in Arizona next month.
Local man and one of the main ‘all-rounders’ in organising some of the biggest international and national music events, Jeff Vuletich, will use his eight years of experience to organise the ‘Gracelands’ fundraising concert.
“At the end of the day I am a local Baylys Beach boy who has followed his dreams, and that’s why I’m back in the area and want to help Grace do the same.”
The 11-year-old Dargaville Intermediate student is the first Northlander to be selected to represent New Zealand at the Association of National Aerobics Championships International Aerobic and Youth Aerobics Championships.
The concert will feature Ben Ratima, The Jedyts, Olly Knox, a Michael Jackson impersonator, DJ Monfrady with MC Matua the Harry plus more.
There will be spit roast sandwiches available and raffles.
The concert will be held at the Yugoslav Hall, Normanby Street, on Saturday, June 23 starting at 3pm until late. Tickets are $15 at the door.
There will also be a Zumba Party to fundraise for Grace on July 7 at the Dargaville Town Hall from 3pm, where Grace will perform her individual routine before the party starts. Doors open at 2.30pm and tickets are $10 per person.
