Bouncing into finals

Ruawai Primary School has for the first time entered a team in the Kaipara Primary School Basketball competition, made up of year five and year six boys and girls. Coached by Paul Rawaho, managed by Natalia Ross, and backed by local businesses Challenge Ruawai, Kaipara Kumara and 4 Square Ruawai, the team have put their best foot forward in brand new uniforms, water bottles, transport and post-game snacks. “Many of the team started with little to no experience on the basketball court but their enthusiasm to learn and improve has seen them get stronger as a team every game,” said school principal, Curtis Gaylor. “With some solid wins to our name we are excited to compete in next week’s finals. We hope this will be an annual event for our Kaipara tamariki.”
