Rural protest rally

Beth Houlbrooke, the deputy leader of ACT New Zealand and a former farmer from Waipu and Ahuroa addressed last Thursday’s rural rally in Dargaville, before a parade through the town. She echoed the thoughts of those who gathered to oppose government changes, saying “no-one is sticking up for the farming sector after a series of policies that have attacked the rural community.
